Welcome

Our story began by pure happenstance.

Neither one of us were supposed to be where we were the night we met.

In August of 2013, I was hanging out with some of my girlfriends.

We planned to relax with some wine and crackers, but what actually went down was anything but a relaxing night at home.

Instead, we ended up at a local bar; The Landing Zone in Midwest City, OK.

Six of us walked into the bar looking to have a few drinks, maybe dance or play some pool.

My best friend Heather and I scoped out a pool table and hatched a plan to see if the two hot guys up next would play a game with us.

Of course they said yes (No guy can resist a girl in cowboy boots).

It just happened that the best looking one was my future husband, Andrew Thigpen.

He put up a challenge on and off the pool table.

It's still up for debate who won the game of pool that night.

However, we both agree we walked away from that bar in August of 2013 with something so much more than a win on the pool table.

On Christmas of 2014, we were hosting several family members and friends in our new home.

The day was going to be a flurry of cooking, eating, and entertaining.

We were up early so we could steal the few moments we knew we would have alone all day.

I knew we wouldn't have time together alone once everyone started showing up.

The rest of the morning and lunch time went so quickly for me - I was rushing around cooking and preparing for our Christmas feast, entertaining and directing our friends and family who were eager to help get all the food to the table.

For Andrew, though it was not the same story; the clock just wasn't moving, lunch didn't come quick enough, and "when could we open presents?" - for crying out loud!

After Andrew having asked to open presents about five times, the group finally shifted to the living room and gifts were dispersed.

Once all gifts had been opened, the only thing left was my stocking.

Andrew and I had been talking about adopting a dog to share our new home, so naturally when I found dog treats in my stocking; I secretly thought Andrew was going to surprise me with a puppy.

As he pulled out the ring, while kneeling in front of me, he said, "I didn't get you a puppy, but will you take me instead?"

With our friends and family looking on, I said yes through tears of joy.
